Hey there! I’m Tyler, a queer and neurodivergent therapist working in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
I believe therapy should be a space where we can openly talk about your lived experiences, so I strive to ensure my work is judgement-free, trauma-informed, and rooted in an anti-oppressive framework. Given that no two people are the same, I believe in exploring the unique strengths people can bring into therapy, and discovering the ways they can be put to good use!
I primarily use a Person-Centred approach to therapy, believing that people are the expert of their own lives and that my role as a therapist is to support people with the goals they wish to pursue. I will often pull from methods like CBT, Somatic Experiencing, and Narrative Therapy, as a means of recognizing and understanding one’s wants and desires. As for some topics people might discuss, I am quite comfortable exploring neurodivergence, sex, sexuality, gender identity, relationships, and even that general sense of overwhelm we can all feel from time to time. If you are experiencing the impact of some of these topics in your romantic relationship, I offer relational therapy and am more than happy to support you in improving your relationship satisfaction.
My approach to therapy is empathetic, queer and trans affirming, sex positive, and supportive of whichever way a person wishes to grow or develop. If you feel this approach to therapy might be right for you, then let’s get working together!
